O artigo pretende traçar os caminhos da ficção científica retrofuturista na literatura brasileira desde as primeiras recepções da obra de Jules Verne no Brasil até as experiências contemporâneas em subgêneros como a ucronia, o steampunk, e o crossover, que estão ajudando a fomentar intenso debate nas universidades, com a formação de grupos de estudo em todo o Brasil, além de refletir sobre modernos conceitos de literatura fantástica brasileira, que vem sendo propostos por escritores e acadêmicos e que deveriam estar na ordem do dia dos debates sobre o assunto, para que a literatura fantástica brasileira saia finalmente do gueto em que sempre esteve confinada, e possa ocupar o lugar de direito entre as produções literárias contemporâneas.
The article intends to trace the paths of retrofuturist science fiction in Brazilian literature from the first receptions of Jules Verne ‘s work in Brazil to contemporary experiences in subgenres such as uchronia, steampunk, and crossover, which are helping to foment intense debate in universities , with the formation of study groups throughout Brazil, as well as reflecting on modern concepts of Brazilian fantastic literature, which have been proposed by writers and scholars and should be on the agenda of the debates on the subject, so that literature fantastic Brazilian finally emerge from the ghetto where it has always been confined, and can occupy the right place among contemporary literary productions.
