Este artículo versa sobre el humor en siete de las obras de Armando Palacio Valdés (Semblanzas literarias, Riverita, La hermana San Sulpicio, El Maestrante, El origen del pensamiento, La aldea perdida, La novela de un novelista). En la primera parte del artículo se presentará una breve introducción, seguida de la trayectoria literaria de nuestro novelista. Posteriormente se introducirán los tipos de humor (humor ver caracteres) encontrados en sus novelas. Y, por último, se expondrá qué simboliza el humor para Palacio Valdés, teniendo en cuenta su afirmación de que el humor es "un soplo delicado que se esparce por todos los pensamientos del escritor, suavizando su aspereza, refrenando sus tendencias a lo absoluto y tiñéndolos todos con el color de lo relativo" Semblanzas literarias, (1908:298). |

This article talks about the humor in seven Armando Palacio Valdés' works (Semblanzas literarias, Riverita, La hermana San Sulpicio, El Maestrante, El origen del pensamiento, La aldea perdida, La novela de un novelista). In the first part, it will be presented a brief introduction, followed by the literary trajectory of our novelist. Afterwards, it will be revealed the different types of humor that can be found in the works of the Asturian writer (verbal humor, situational humor, humor of customs, humor of characters). In the final part, it will be exposed what humor symbolizes to the Lavianian novelist, taking into account his statement that humor is "a delicate breath that spreads through all the writer's thoughts, softening its roughness, restraining its tendencies to the absolute, and dyeing them all with the color of the relative" Semblanzas literarias, (1908:298). |
