En una era de continuo progreso tecnológico, la variación lingüística del español se ha extendido también a las redes sociales. Este fenómeno se ha convertido en tema de publicaciones compartidas por diversos usuarios, ganando notoriedad en el ámbito virtual. En esta contribución, se examinan contenidos audiovisuales de Instagram para observar cómo se aborda la riqueza del español en la plataforma. El análisis se centra en cuatro categorías de publicaciones, siendo estas la variación léxica, los choques culturales entre España y Colombia/Argentina, el orgullo nacional canario y el llanito. Asimismo, se observa la postura adoptada por los autores, sea esta humorística o didáctica, ante el tema tratado. Finalmente, se consideran las posibilidades educativas brindadas por el uso potencial de la plataforma en los contextos de español como lengua extranjera. During a time of continuous technological progress, Spanish linguistic variety has extended to social networks as well. This phenomenon has become the focus of posts shared by various users and has gained notoriety in virtual environments. This contribution analyses audiovisual content on Instagram in order to observe how Spanish richness is treated on the social network. The analysis focuses on four categories of posts, namely lexical variety, cultural shocks between Spain and Colombia/Argentina, Canarian national pride and the case of llanito. It also inspects the attitude, be it humoristic or didactic, embraced in the contents towards the presented varieties. Lastly, it explores the didactic possibilities created by the potential use of social media in the contexts of Spanish as foreign language. Finally, the work wants to observe how Instagram reflects the linguistic reality of the Spanish language and the belief system associated with it.
