L’Institut Ramon Llull (IRL) promou els estudis de català a les universitats de fora del domini lingüístic català, amb 3.500 estudiants i 134 professores arreu del món. El present article se centra en les característiques d’aquestes professores, que han estat poc estudiades. Més concretament, ens proposem esbrinar quin és el perfil formatiu, docent i investigador de les professores, quines són les seves condicions laborals i com creuen que afectarà aquesta experiència al seu futur laboral. Per poder descriure com incideix l’experiència de la Xarxa Llull (XL) a la carrera professional, aportem les mateixes dades d’exprofessores. A través d’un qüestionari en línia, s’han recollit les dades de setanta-una informants, que assenyalen que malgrat que les professores presenten algunes similituds quant al perfil, les condicions laborals varien molt d’una plaça a una altra, i que les professores solen tenir una situació inestable degut a les condicions dels contractes. A més, mentre que les professores actuals consideren que l’experiència de treballar a una destinació de la XL les pot ajudar a trobar feina més endavant, les respostes de les exprofessores varien segons si ara treballen a l’estranger o dins dels territoris de parla catalana.
The Institut Ramon Llull promotes Catalan language studies at universities outside the Catalan-speaking territories, with a current total of 3,500 students and 134 teachers worldwide. This study focuses on the characteristics of its teachers, who form an understudied group. More specifically, we aim to describe the teachers’ academic backgrounds, their teaching and research profiles, their working conditions and their opinions on how their experience will impact their future careers. To describe how working in the Llull Network affects teachers’ professional career, we provide the same data on former teachers. Information from 71 informants was gathered through an online survey. The results show that although the teachers have some similarities in their profiles, working conditions vary greatly from one post to another and also that they are often in an unstable situation due to the temporary or non-permanent nature of their contracts. In addition, while current teachers believe that the experience of working in a Llull Network destination can help them to find work later on, former teachers’ answers vary depending on whether they are working at present abroad or in the Catalan-speaking areas.
