Estudiamos cómo Claribel Alegría explora el dolor y la ausencia a través de los mitos grecolatinos que reescribe en Saudade (1999), el primer poemario que sacó a la luz tras perder a su marido. El análisis de sus versos nos permitirá comprender cómo el tono elegíaco se concreta en la recepción de los mitos escogidos, que le permiten un acercamiento específico a los temas de la pérdida y la muerte. La representación del vuelo y la caída, de la subida y la bajada a los infiernos, y del dolor por medio de los castigos infernales completan nuestro estudio. Además, las relaciones con el resto de su poesía permiten establecer la incidencia de estos temas en la misma. La relevancia del mito en la obra de la autora y la falta de acercamientos previos a este tema justifican nuestra aportación.
We study how Claribel Alegría explores pain and absence through the Greco-Latin myths that she rewrites in Saudade (1999), the first collection of poems that she published after losing her husband. The analysis of his verses will help us to understand how the elegiac tone is specified in the reception of the chosen myths, which allows a specific approach to the topics of loss and death. The representation of the flight and the fall, of the ascent and the descent into hell, and of pain, through infernal punishments complete our study. In addition, the relationships with the rest of his poetry establish the impact of these themes. The relevance of myth in the author's work and the lack of previous approaches to this issue justify our contribution.
