El presente trabajo explora las evoluciones del cuento tradicional en la literatura maya yucateca contemporánea, analizando su forma, su estructura y su estilo. En particular, se estudiará la colección U yóol xkaambal jaw xíim. Contrayerba de la activista y escritora maya yucateca Ana Patricia Martínez Huchim. Intelectual comprometida con el rescate del patrimonio cultural maya, la difusión de la lengua y la afirmación identitaria a través de la literatura, la autora opera una relectura de la tradición literaria maya desde el punto de vista femenino, proponiendo nuevas perspectivas críticas y una descolonización transversal de la literatura latinoamericana, que cruza cuestiones de género, etnia y funciones sociales
This paper explores the evolution of traditional tales in contemporary Yucatec Maya literature, analyzing its forms, structures and style. In particular, I will study the collection U yóol xkaambal jaw xíim. Contrayerba by the Yucatecan Mayan activist and writer Ana Patricia Martínez Huchim. As an intellectual committed to the rescue of the Mayan cultural heritage, the dissemination of the Mayan language and the affirmation of Mayan identity through literature, the author re-reads the Mayan literary tradition from a feminine point of view, proposing new critical perspectives and a transversal decolonization of Latin American literature, which crosses issues of gender, ethnicity and social functions.
