Desde las escrituras del yo, donde se aúnan el registro documental y el imaginario ficcional, analizamos la lectura interdiscursiva que hace Martha Mercader en Juanamanuela mucha mujer, de la obra literaria de Juana Manuela Gorriti. Novela escrita dentro de las estrategias de la teoría literaria contemporánea, en la que no solo se percibe el discurso de afirmación de la condición femenina en el siglo XIX, sino también la recatada actitud de un personaje que nos habla, a través del yo ficcional, de la verdadera Juana Manuela que vivió en el siglo XIX. Y en ese siglo, se atrevió a pensar como mujer. En las obras de la Gorriti, la historia argentina se fue mezclando con la alquimia narrativa del folletín semanal hasta convertirlo en el documental de una etapa donde caudillos, viajes inusitados y comidas «eclécticas» compusieron el archivo imaginario de varias generaciones de americanas. Cuando Martha Mercader redescubre a la escritora salteña en la ligera llamada de un diccionario, su fuerza batalladora la impulsa a dar forma al yo ficcional de Juananuela, dentro de los parámetros de la novela histórica.
Within the writings of I, where the documentary record and the fictional imaginary come together, we analyze the interdiscursive reading of Martha Mercader in Juanamanuela mucha mujer, the literary work of Juana Manuela Gorriti. Novel written within the strategies of contemporary literary theory, in which not only we perceive the affirming discourse of the status of women in the nineteenth century. But also the modest attitude of a character that speaks to us through the fictional I of the real Juana Manuela who lived in the nineteenth century, and in that century she dared to think as a woman. In the works of Gorriti, the history of Argentina was mixing with the narrative weekly serial alchemy to make the documentary a stage where warlords, unused travels and «eclectic» meals composed the imaginary file of several generations of Americans. When Martha Mercader rediscovers the saltenian writer in the light call of a dictionary, her battling strength drives her to shape the fictional I of Juanamanuela, within the parameters of the historical novel.
