Como varios estudios lo han planteado, la globalización industrial y postindustrial han afectado la existencia de las comunidades artesanales, especialmente en zonas periféricas del mercado internacional. Pero también actualmente, en el norte global, se presenta la artesanía como una reconexión, a veces romantizada, con la tierra y con oportunidades para el consumidor de hacer elecciones éticas. En este contexto, nos proponemos examinar las poesías del argentino Sergio Raimondi (1968) y del guatemalteco Juan Carlos Lemus (1964) en cuanto sitúan el trabajo artesanal como una experiencia individual y colectiva que resiste la homogeneización, la fragmentación social y la degradación ecológica en Latinoamérica. Desde retóricas distintas, en secciones de la Poesía civil (2001) de Sergio Raimondi y Los versos del (Pájaro) Carpintero (2021) de Juan Carlos Lemus se asume un posicionamiento crítico frente a patrones de consumo capitalista y se retoman discusiones sobre la relación entre experiencia, trabajo artesanal y el arte.
As several studies have argued, industrial and post-industrial globalization have affected the existence of craft communities, especially in peripheral areas of the international market. But also today, in the global north, craft is presented as a reconnection, sometimes romanticized, with the land and with opportunities for the consumer to make ethical choices. In this context, we examine the poems of the Argentine Sergio Raimondi (b. 1968) and the Guatemalan Juan Carlos Lemus (b. 1964) as they situate artisanal work as an individual and collective experience that resists homogenization, social fragmentation and ecological degradation in Latin America. From different rhetoric, in sections of Poesía civil (2001) by Sergio Raimondi and Los versos del (Pájaro) Carpintero (2021) by Juan Carlos Lemus, a critical stance against capitalist consumption patterns is assumed and discussions on the relationship between experience, artisan work and art are retaken.
