El objetivo de la contribución es avanzar la hipótesis de una posible lectura bajo el prisma del modo melodramático de narraciones pertenecientes al corpus de la generación de HIJOS argentinos que enfocan el tema de los vínculos afectivos intergeneracionales. Tras una reflexión sobre las características del melodrama y de su tradición en América Latina, la atención se focaliza en cartografiar textos de matriz testimonial que sin embargo presentan rasgos melodramáticos, para luego analizar los casos específicos de dos novelas –Una muchacha muy bella (2013) de Julián López y Magdalufi (2018) de Verónica Sánchez Viamonte– en las que el modo melodramático funciona como matriz articuladora.
The aim of this contribution is to advance the hypothesis of a possible reading under the prism of the melodramatic mode of narratives belonging to the corpus of the generation of Argentinean HIJOS that focus on the theme of intergenerational affective bonds. After a reflection on the characteristics of melodrama and its tradition in Latin America, attention is focused on mapping texts with a testimonial matrix that nevertheless present melodramatic features, to then analyze the specific cases of two novels –Una muchacha muy bella (2013) by Julián López and Magdalufi (2018) by Verónica Sánchez Viamonte– in which the melodramatic mode functions as the articulating matrix.
