La variació lingüística no es podria concebre sense els parlants d’una llengua ni sense una cultura com a marc que envolta l’acte de comunicació, per això, fer un simple transvasament lingüístic en el procés traductològic no és la solució. Per aquest motiu, cal sospesar els problemes i les possibles solucions a l’hora de traduir els elements de la variació lingüística del nivell diastràtic. En el nostre cas d’anàlisi,treballarem amb l ’argot de l’homosexualitat, que és la peça clau de la sèrie televisiva Queer as folk , i farem propostes pràctiques de traducció en català que serviran de base d’estudi teòric futur sobre la traducció de la varietat diastràtica.
Linguistic variation could not be understood neither without the speakers of a language nor without a culture acting as the framework of the act of communication. Therefore, making a simple linguistic shift in the translational process is not the solution . For this reason, it is necessary to weigh the problems and the possible solutions when translating elements of linguistic variation of the sociolinguistic field. In our case of analysis, we will focus on the slang of homosexuality, which is the cornersto ne of the television series Queer as folk , in order to make practical proposals of translation into Catalan that will be the basis for a further theoretical study on the translation of the sociolinguistic field.
