La compleja situación económica que atravesó Castilla en el siglo xvii motivó la aparición de innumerables arbitrios de naturaleza económica. Los autores, conscientes de la situación de crisis vigente, propusieron diversos reme-dios para resolverla. En esta abundante literatura encontramos escritos de diversa naturaleza. Analizar los fundamentos teóricos de estas propuestas permite identificar la influencia que el pensamiento escolástico tuvo en esta literatura y ayuda a establecer su calidad. Aquellos autores que, aunque sin citar explícitamente sus fuentes, fundamentaron sus argumentos en ideas escolásticas, fueron capaces de comprender la naturaleza de los fenómenos económicos y pudieron proponer re-medios adecuados, coherentes con la teoría económica predominante
The complex economic situation that Castile went through in the sev-enteenth century led to the appearance of innumerable arbitrations of an economic nature. The authors, aware of the current crisis, proposed various remedies to re-solve it. In this abundant literature we find writings of various kinds. Analyzing the theoretical foundations of these proposals allows us to identify the influence that scholastic thought had on this literature and helps to establish its quality. Those authors who, although without explicitly citing their sources, based their arguments on scholastic ideas, were able to understand the nature of economic phenomena and were able to propose adequate remedies, consistent with the prevailing eco-nomic theory
