Este artículo se centra en los importantes avances teóricos y metodológicos producidos en el estudio de la entonación. El objetivo que se persigue no es otro que trazar el camino que empieza en los principios establecidos por Emilio Alarcos Llorach desde la perspectiva del estructuralismo y el funcionalismo lingüístico y que termina en las corrientes actuales de estudio. Es por ello que comenzamos reflexionando sobre las ideas lingüísticas del maestro, para continuar posteriormente con los modelos lingüísticos de análisis entonativo más recientes. La intención es, en definitiva, mostrar los pasos dados en el estudio de la entonación a lo largo de estos años y poner de manifiesto cómo la comunidad científica ha ahondado en los hechos y circunstancias que dificultaban su análisis intentando dar respuestas y soluciones a los problemas planteados.
This article focuses on the important theoretical and methodological advances produced in the study of intonation. The objective pursued is none other than to trace the path that begins in the principles established by Emilio Alarcos Llorach from the perspective of structuralism and linguistic functionalism and that ends in the current trends of research. This is why we begin by reflecting on his linguistic ideas, to continue later with the latest linguistic models of entonative analysis. The intention is, in short, to show the steps taken in the study of intonation throughout these years and to highlight how the scientific community has delved into the facts and circumstances that hindered their analysis, trying to give answers and solutions to the problems raised.
