El objetivo de este artículo es mostrar la enorme influencia que la obra de Emilio Alarcos tuvo en la configuración de la lingüística española a partir de 1970. Para acotar tan amplio tema, el trabajo se reduce al terreno de los estudios sintácticos y adopta la perspectiva de quienes, no siendo discípulos directos del maestro, llegaron a su obra desde variantes de la gramática tradicional y convirtieron sus Estudios de gramática funcional del español en su guía metodológica fundamental.
The aim of this article is to show the enormous influence that the work of Emilio Alarcos had on the configuration of Spanish linguistics from 1970 onwards. In order to delimit such a broad topic, the work is reduced to the field of syntactic studies and adopts the perspective of those who, not being direct disciples of the master, came to his work from variants of traditional grammar and turned his Estudios de gramática funcional del español into his fundamental methodological guide.
