The translation of the Libro de los cantos(Shi Jing) by Gabriel García-Noblejas is analyzed from the perspective of reception theory, highlighting concepts such as the “horizon of expectations” and “gaps.” The adaptation to the Spanish-speaking context is emphasized through the preservation of symbolism, cultural annotations, and attention to rhythm. However, challenges arise in representing Chinese cultural concepts, such as the calendar. The work serves as a cultural bridge between China and Spain, fostering intercultural dialogue and underscoring the relevance of classical works as tools for global connection
