En este artículo se estudia el significado de algunos verbos de movimiento que, en combinación con ciertos sustantivos que se refieren a lugares o a instituciones asociados a una actividad prototípica, pueden dar lugar a lecturas en las que se predica un cambio de ubicación y a lecturas en las que se predica la adquisición o pérdida de una cualidad o condición. Para dar cuenta de dichas lecturas, postulamos que el significado de una palabra se halla estructurado en distintos componentes y que estos interactúan mediante operaciones léxicas, y proponemos un análisis basado en la concordancia de los rasgos subléxicos del verbo y del sustantivo seleccionado. Asimismo, mostramos que las lecturas de cambio de propiedad no se producen de manera irrestricta, sino que están reguladas por el tipo de sustantivo seleccionado, el número (singular o plural) de este y la incidencia de determinados adjuntos.
In this paper we study the meaning of some motion verbs that, when combined with certain nouns that refer to places or institutions associated with prototypical activities, can give rise to readings in which there is either a change of location or an acquirement/loss of a quality or condition. In order to account for these readings, we posit that the meaning of words is structured into different components that interact by means of lexical operations and propose an analysis based on the agreement of the sub-lexical features that are encoded by the verb and its selected noun. Furthermore, we show that the readings in which there is a change of property are not unconstrained, but rather they are regulated by the type of the noun that is selected, its number (singular or plural) and the occurrence of certain adjuncts.
