En el año 1668, la joven Antonia de Zavala cantó en Eibar unas coplas con contenido ofensivo que había compuesto el estudiante eibarrés Antonio de Elzarzaga. Producto de este hecho, se inició en la villa armera un proceso criminal por injurias en el cual diversos testigos refirieron al escri-bano encargado del pleito hasta cuatro versiones diferentes de dichas coplas, transcribiéndolas este en el legajo, sin traducción, en el euskera en el que habían sido cantadas. Aunque su existencia era conocida desde el año 2009 y a pesar de su notable importancia, estas coplas no habían sido estudiadas hasta ahora, muy probablemente por el mal estado del legajo que las contiene. Tratando de vencer esta y otras dificultades, afrontamos en este trabajo la edición crítica de las ziri-koplak eibarresas de 1668, acompañándola del análisis lingüístico del euskera de las mismas y del estudio de su modelo métrico.
In 1668, a young woman called Antonia de Zavala sang in eibar some offensive verses composed by Antonio de elzarzaga, a student from the same village. As a result of this event, a criminal trial for slander was initiated. during the trial, various witnesses recited four different versions of the verses to the notary in charge of the lawsuit. These verses were tran-scribed in Basque, without any translation. Although the existence of the verses was discovered in 2009 and despite their great interest, they have not been scholarly edited and studied until now, probably because of the poor con-dition of the file in which they have been preserved. in this work, we try to overcome this and other difficulties, and we present a critical edition of the text, together with a linguistic analysis and a study on the metric model.
