Este pequeño homenaje a Aurelio González quiere poner de manifiesto dos de los aspectos más importantes en su biografía intelectual: su relación con la Asociación Internacional de Hispanistas (aih, de la que llegó a ser presiente y su dedicación científica al Romancero (tradicional y culto). Su formación en México y su ascendencia asturiana le condujeron de forma vital al estudio de la literatura tradicional y de forma singular a la recogida de romances tradicionales y al estudio del Romancero. Nos han legado un conjunto de publicaciones excelentes sobre la que sujetar futuras investigaciones
This small tribute to Aurelio González aims to highlight two of the most important aspects of his intellectual biography: his relationship with the Asociación Internacional de Hispanistas (aih), of which he became president, and his scientific dedication to the Romancero (traditional and new). His training in Mexico and his Asturian ancestry led him in a vital way to the study of traditional literature and in a singular way to the collection of traditional romances and the study of the Romancero. They have bequeathed us a set of excellent publications on which to base future research
