Un análisis detenido de las guías de codificación y de los estudios variacionistas dedicados, en relación con el proyecto PRESEEA, a la expresión opcional del sujeto en el ámbito hispánico revela, además de las valiosas aportaciones en cuanto a las tendencias vinculadas a dicho fenómeno, varios problemas teóricos y metodológicos. La propuesta presentada en este trabajo pretende resolver esos problemas mediante la inclusión de determinados factores discursivos no contemplados hasta el momento. En concreto, partimos de la interacción que se produce entre el contraste y las funciones informativas. Si el sujeto es tópico familiar, la realización fonética del constituyente puede tener un valor redundante o contrastivo. Si es tópico modificado, posee siempre un carácter contrastivo. No obstante, es preciso atender también a ciertas variedades geolectales y diastráticas para comprobar de qué manera actúan estas restricciones discursivas y su interrelación con las variables lingüísticas, sociales y geográficas analizadas en dicho proyecto.
A careful analysis of the coding guides and variationist studies dedicated, in relation to the PRESEEA project, to the optional expression of the subject in the Hispanic field reveals, in addition to the valuable contributions in terms of the trends linked to this phenomenon, several theoretical and methodological problems. The proposal presented in this paper aims to solve these problems by including certain discursive factors that have not been considered so far. Specifically, we start from the interaction between contrast and informative functions. If the subject is a familiar topic, the phonetic realisation of the constituent can have a redundant or contrastive value. If it is a modified topic, it always has a contrastive character. However, it is also necessary to pay attention to certain geolectal and diastratic varieties in order to check how these discursive restrictions act and their interrelation with the linguistic, social and geographical variables analysed in this project.
