En nuestro estudio se plantea el análisis del fenómeno sinonímico desde el punto de vista de su tratamiento lexicográfico en diccionarios monolingües de español, con el propósito de verificar si estas obras ofrecen las informaciones necesarias para el uso adecuado del léxico de significado afín. Dadas las limitaciones que se desprenden del análisis, propondremos el estudio de un caso (los verbos sinónimos parciales escoger y elegir), que nos permitirá arrojar luz sobre la dimensión metalingüística, por medio de la aplicación de instrumentos conceptuales que hasta este momento se han empleado con éxito para el estudio de la gramática, como son los dos ejes que articulan el significado semántico desde un punto de vista metalingüístico (significado procedimental): el eje de la información y el eje de la actitud del enunciador, tal y como se han formalizado en la gramática metaoperacional. Su uso nos permitirá percibir regularidades en las interpretaciones que se generan sistemáticamente en estos verbos y en otras parejas de verbos sinonímicos.
Our study aims to analyse the phenomenon of synonymy from the point of view of its lexicographical treatment in monolingual dictionaries of Spanish. The purpose is to verify whether these works offer the necessary information for the adequate use of the lexicon of related meaning. Given the limitations arising from the analysis, we will propose the study of a case (the partial synonymous verbs escoger and elegir), which will allow us to shed light on the metalinguistic dimension, by means of the application of conceptual instruments which have been successfully used up to now for the study of grammar, such as the two axes which articulate semantic meaning from a metalinguistic point of view (procedural meaning): the axis of information and the axis of the attitude of the enunciator, as formalised in meta-operational grammar. Their use will allow us to perceive regularities in the interpretations that are systematically generated in these verbs and in other synonymic verb pairs.
