En este trabajo analizo las propiedades sintácticas y discursiva de vaya, una interjección que se puede usar en diferentes situaciones y que posee diferentes interpretaciones. En concreto, mi principal objetivo consiste en justificar la relevancia de los aspectos estructurales en la interpretación de vaya, bien como partícula discursiva que puede expresar sorpresa, disgusto o que se puede usar también para reformular algunos aspectos de la oración previa, bien como partícula de polaridad enfática, o bien como operador exclamativo. Este estudio me permitirá profundizar en la relación entre la sintaxis y el discurso, pues analizaré las posiciones funcionales con las que las diferentes interpretaciones de vaya se pueden vincular.
This paper analyzes syntactic and discursive properties of vaya (‘go’), an interjection that can be used in different situations and with different interpretations. Specifically, my main objective is to justify the relevance of the structural aspects in the interpretation of vaya as a discourse particule that express surprise, displeasure, or can be used to reformulate the previous sentence, as a polarity marker or as a modal operator. The study of vaya permits me to look deeper into the relationship between the syntax and discourse by analyzing the positions in which the different intepretation of vaya are linked to.
