El presente trabajo enfoca la relación entre el tiempo y el espacio en el prólogo del Libro del caballero Zifar, para dar cuenta de la medida del tiempo histórico que se subsume en un tiempo sacro cristiano en la configuración de los hechos que allí se narran, en paralelo a la peregrinación como acontecimiento y práctica esencial para el cristiano del periodo. A partir de la imagen del traslado, tanto la peregrinatio del cuerpo santo del cardenal Gonzalo García Gudiel de Roma a Toledo como la historia trasladada y las aventuras de Zifar se asocian a la santidad de sus figuras modélicas y a los valores cristianos que se transmiten como actos conmemorativos de relevancia colectiva.
This paper focuses on the relationship between time and space in the Prologue of the Libro del caballero Zifar, to account for the measurement of historical time that is subsumed in a Christian sacred time in the configuration of the events narrated there, in parallel to the pilgrimage as an essential event and practice for the Christian of the period. From the image of the transfer, both the peregrinatio of the holy body of Cardinal Gonzalo García Gudiel from Rome to Toledo and the transferred history and Zifar’s adventures are associated with the sanctity of their exemplary figures and the Christian values that are transmitted as commemorative acts of collective relevance.
