El presente trabajo se centra en el estudio de la novela gráfica Nebrija, publicada por el ilustrador y escritor argentino Agustín Comotto en 2022 con motivo del quinto centenario de la muerte de uno de los humanistas españoles por excelencia. Lejos de seguir la senda marcada hasta el momento por la narratividad de la biografía gráfica, este cómic se presenta como un trabajo poliédrico en el que, siguiendo el espíritu propio del Humanismo, su autor sitúa al personaje histórico en el centro del interés para destilarlo como un vector de conocimiento. Este planteamiento, no solo pone en alza el carácter fundamental de la obra del lebrijano desde el punto de vista filológico y la capital importancia que tuvo en el devenir religioso y político de las coronas de Castilla y Aragón, sino que además permite entender su función como de conexión con los principales focos del Humanismo europeo, lo cual marcará, en buena medida, el rumbo hacia la plena Modernidad española.
This paper focuses on the study of the graphic novel Nebrija, published by the Argentine illustrator and writer Agustín Comotto in 2022, to mark the fifth centenary of the death of one of the quintessential Spanish humanist. Far from following the path set by the typical storytelling of graphic biographies, this comic presents itself as a multifaceted work in which, following the true spirit of Humanism, the author places the historical figure at the center of interest, distilling him as a vector of knowledge. This approach not only highlights the fundamental nature of Nebrija’s work from a philological perspective and the significant importance it had on the religious and political developments of the Crowns of Castile and Aragon but also allows for an understanding of his role as a connection with the main centers of European Humanism, which would set the initial course towards full Spanish Modernity
