El presente artículo es un estudio analítico de la representación del miedo, el trauma y lo monstruoso en Instrucciones para salvar el mundo (2008) y La buena suerte (2020), de Rosa Montero. Ambas novelas muestran cómo la autora recurre al miedo, pero con dos diferencias que refuerzan la complejidad de la ficción. En la primera novela predomina el trauma y en la segunda lo monstruoso. Nos proponemos demostrar, apoyándonos principalmente en las reflexiones teóricas de Herman, Kristeva y Moraña, que estamos ante dos novelas en las que el recorrido narrativo y psicológico de los dos protagonistas principales es equiparable.
The following article is a textual study of the representation of fear, trauma and the monstrous in Instrucciones para salvar el mundo (2008) and La buena suerte (2020), by Rosa Montero. Both novels show how the author resorts to fear, but with two differences that reinforce the complexity of the fiction. In the first novel, trauma predominates, and in the second, the monstrous. Relying mostly on the theoretical reflections of Herman, Kristeva and Moraña, we intend to demonstrate that in these two novels the narrative and psychological journey of the two main characters is comparable.
