Este trabajo realiza un análisis literario de las “Coplas de Juan Descalzo” escrita y publicada por el poeta nacional de Cuba, Nicolás Guillén Batista (1902-1989), más conocido por Nicolás Guillén. Considerado por la crítica literaria y lectores como el mayor poeta cubano de todos los tiempos. Este poema pertenece a la sección Sátira política de su vasta y fecunda producción literaria que tiene como telón de fondo, los diferentes contextos históricos y socioculturales de la nación cubana antes del triunfo de la revolución socialista de 1959. De los resultados obtenidos de este estudio destacan los usos y manejos de los recursos estilísticos que realiza el bardo camagüeyano en esta composición poética donde predominan la utilización de este tipo de forma estrófica de la tradición popular española.
Abstract. This work carries out a literary analysis of the “Coplas de Juan Descalzo” written and published by the national poet of Cuba, Nicolás Guillén Batista (1902-1989), better known as Nicolás Guillén. He is considered by literary critics and readers to be the greatest Cuban poet of all time. This poem belongs to the Political Satire section of his vast and fruitful literary production that has as a backdrop, the different historical and sociocultural contexts of the Cuban nation before the triumph of the socialist revolution of 1959. Of the results obtained from this study, the following stand out: uses and management of the stylistic resources carried out by the Camagüey bard in this poetic composition where the use of this type of strophic form from the Spanish popular tradition predominates.
