Este ensayo presenta la edición de la Loa de la Asunción de la Virgen de Claramonte, que sigue el texto del único testimonio que la ha conservado, una impresión del año 1621 (Francisco de Lyra, Sevilla) que se localiza en la biblioteca de la Hispanic Society of America. En la introducción repaso las loas que se conocen de Claramonte, ofrezco unas notas de la tradición poética asuncionista y examino la loa objeto de edición, glosando el argumento y la estructura. Conjeturo asimismo que el texto fue representado en Viana (Navarra) el 15 de agosto del año 1623 a partir de indicios arrojados por la documentación. La edición consta de un texto modernizado que trae un aparato de notas que intenta esclarecer aspectos teológicos y poner de relieve algunas intertextualidades de la obra de Claramonte.
This essay presents the edition of Claramonte's Loa de la Asunción de la Virgen, which follows the text of the only testimony that has preserved it, a print from 1621 (Francisco de Lyra, Seville) that is in the library of the Hispanic Society of America. In the introduction I review Claramonte's known loas, provide some notes on the Assumptionist poetic tradition, and discuss the loa that is the subject of this edition, commenting on the plot and structure. I also conjecture that the text was performed in Viana (Navarra) on 15 August 1623 on the basis of documentary evidence. The edition consists of a modernized text with an apparatus of notes that attempts to clarify theological aspects and to highlight some intertextualities in Claramonte's works.
