Este artículo analiza los ensayos feministas de Rosario Castellanos. Escritos desde los años cincuenta hasta principios de los setenta, sus ensayos, artículos y notas, publicados en periódicos, libros y revistas, denuncian la discriminación de género, la marginalización de lasmujeres, su borramiento social, cultural, debido a su supuesta inferioridad. Sus palabras son relevantes en pleno siglo XXI porque importa combatir anquilosadas asignaciones de género y luchar contra el pensamiento reduccionista de ‘lo femenino’ y ‘lo masculino’, exponiendo las armas y los mecanismos que han sido utilizados, a lo largo de la historia, para oprimir y marginar a las mujeres.
This article analyzes the feminist essays of Rosario Castellanos. Written during the fifties up to the early seventies, her essays, articles and notes, published in newspapers, books and magazines, denounce gender discrimination, the marginalization of women, and their social and cultural erasure, due to their attributed inferiority. Her words are relevant in the 21st century because it is important to combat stagnant gender assignments and fight against reductionist notions of‘the feminine’ and ‘the masculine’, while exposing the weapons and mechanisms that have been used, throughout history, to oppress and marginalize women.
