Resumen de Indícios de mudança linguística no Português Europeu: um estudo exploratório sobre o falar dos jovens da zona da Beira Baixa

  This study investigates linguistic change in the speech of young people from Beira Baixa (Portugal), comparing their phonetic, morphosyntactic, and lexical usage with that of older speakers from the same region (Inácio, Osório & Marcotulio, 2025). The research is based on interviews and questionnaires conducted with informants between the ages of 18 and 40, analyzing whether features formerly characteristic of the region are still present. Preliminary results suggest the disappearance of several traditional phonetic phenomena, morphosyntactic changes, and the introduction of new lexical elements. Lexical replacement of regional variants with more standardized forms is also observed.

  Este estudo investiga a mudança linguística no falar de jovens da Beira Baixa (Portugal), comparando os seus usos fonéticos, morfossintáticos e lexicais com os de falantes mais velhos da mesma região (Inácio, Osório & Marcotulio, 2025). A pesquisa baseia-se em entrevistas e questionários aplicados a informantes entre 18 e 40 anos, analisando se os traços anteriormente característicos da região ainda se mantêm. Os resultados preliminares sugerem o desaparecimento de vários fenómenos fonéticos tradicionais, mudanças morfossintáticas e a introdução de elementos lexicais novos. Também se verifica a substituição lexical de variantes regionais por formas mais padronizadas.
