A lo largo del presente artículo examinaremos cómo el motivo fantástico y el musical se entrelazan dentro de cuatro cuentos de fantasmas españoles: «Maese Pérez el organista» (1861) «El miserere» (1861), «Si tú me dices ven» (1989) y «Hungry for your love» (2010). Los dos primeros relatos fueron compuestos por Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer y los dos últimos por Antonio Muñoz Molina y Patricia Esteban Erlés, respectivamente. En todos ellos se aprecia un vínculo ostensible entre el espectro y la música, elementos ambos propiciatorios del encantamiento que se describe en los textos. Estudiaremos, entonces, la función que en las anteriores composiciones asume el diálogo intermedial e intertextual que se establece entre la música y la ficción literaria.
Throughout this article, we will examine how fantastic and musical motifs intertwine in four Spanish ghost stories: "Maese Pérez the Organist" (1861), "El Miserere" (1861), "Si tú me dices ven" (1989), and "Hungry for Your Love" (2010). The first two stories were composed by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, and the last two by Antonio Muñoz Molina and Patricia Esteban Erlés, respectively. In all of them, there is an obvious connection between the ghost and music, both of which facilitate the enchantment described in the texts. We will then study the function that the intermedial and intertextual dialogue established between music and literary fiction assumes in the previous compositions.
