Este artículo estudia la labor que el escritor y crítico cinematográfico Manuel Villegas López realiza como docente y conferenciante en distintas instituciones de la Argentina y las sinergias entre esta labor y los libros sobre cine publicados esos años. A través del archivo personal que conserva la familia, se censan los cursos y conferencias y las instituciones que las organizan. Así mismo, se estudia la bibliografía cinematográfica en Argentina para concluir que Villegas es el autor con más libros de cine publicados entre 1939 y 1953, tiempo de su estancia en el país.
This article examines the contributions of Manuel Villegas López, a writer and film critic, during his time in Argentina as a teacher and lecturer at various institutions. It explores the connections between his educational work and the cinema-related books he published during those years. Using his family’s archive, the study compiles a list of the courses and conferences he conducted, along with the institutions that hosted them. Additionally, it analyzes the cinematic bibliography in Argentina, concluding that Villegas published the most books on cinema between 1939 and 1953, corresponding to his residency period in the country.
