La idea de este artículo se originó a partir del cuestionamiento de cómo se puede leer e interpretar una obra literaria, cuyo género se encuentra entre distintas nomenclaturas. Es por ello que el propósito de esta investigación es confirmar la necesidad de un respaldo histórico que permita dilucidar Noticia de un secuestro, manuscrito publicado de Gabriel García Márquez, de naturaleza híbrida y que cuyas definiciones oscilan entre la novela, el reportaje y la crónica periodística. Frente a esta incertidumbre de desconocer una metodología pertinente, se optó por las teorías concomitantes de la historia y, en rigor, en aquellas que desarrolla Mieke Bal, a las que denomina retrospecciones interna y externa. Solo desde esa modalidad podrá comprenderse la estructuración histórico-literaria que ha efectuado el escritor colombiano. Asimismo, para elaborar este trabajo y llegar a la conclusión que se anhela, se recurrió a documentación histórica del periodo de Gobierno de Belisario Betancur, estribado en los años de 1982 a 1986.
The idea of ??this article originated from the questioning of how a literary work can be read and interpreted, whose genre is between different nomenclatures. That is why the purpose of this research is to confirm the need for historical support that allows elucidating News of a Kidnapping, a published manuscript by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, of a hybrid nature and whose definitions oscillate between the novel, the report and the journalistic chronicle. Faced with this uncertainty of not knowing a relevant methodology, we opted for the concomitant theories of history and, strictly speaking, those developed by Mieke Bal, which she calls internal and external retrospections. Only from this modality can the historical-literary structuring carried out by the Colombian writer be understood. Likewise, to elaborate this work and reach the desired conclusion, historical documentation of the government period of Belisario Betancur, rooted in the years from 1982 to 1986, was used.
