La hipótesis sobre una edición antuerpiense perdida de los Romances de Sepúlveda, aunque explica el origen de textos ajenos al plan original de la obra, no permite asegurar que esta misma sea fuente de la edición fechada en 1551. Queda la posibilidad de que este testimonio dependa de una rama de transmisión distinta de los Romances. Este análisis de los contenidos de las ediciones antuerpienses más antiguas (1551 y s. a.) abona a la argumentación sobre una edición perdida, de Martín Nucio, y la dependencia de ambos testimonios antuerpienses conservados con respecto a ésta.
The hypothesis regarding a lost Antwerp edition of the Romances by Sepúlveda while it explains the origin of texts foreign to the original plan of the work, does not allow us to assert that it is the source of the edition dated 1551. There remains the possibility that this testimony depends on a distinct branch of transmission of the Romances. This analysis of the contents of the oldest Antwerp editions (1551 and undated) supports the argument for a lost edition by Martín Nucio, and the dependence of both preserved Antwerp testimonies in relation to it.
