Nos proponemos realizar un análisis fonético de un texto particular, un libro de magia criptojudío penado por la Inquisición de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. El libro contiene numerosas recetas de ocultismo en español o latín y algunos términos en griego y una lengua semítica. En cuanto al español de este texto, contiene rasgos de otros iberorromances, así que analizaremos con un enfoque mixto (cuantitativo y cualitativo) algunos fenómenos fonéticos del consonantismo y el vocalismo para determinar si la lengua de este texto tiene características iberorromances occidentales o andaluzas. Los fenómenos que estudiaremos son, en el vocalismo, la vacilación tímbrica y los diptongos; en el consonantismo, las sibilantes del texto, la evolución de F- inicial latina, el betacismo y algunas palatalizaciones ajenas al castellano.
We propose to conduct a phonetic analysis of a particular text, a crypto-Jewish book of magic condemned by the Inquisition of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The book contains numerous magic recipes in Spanish or Latin and some terms in Greek and a Semitic language. As for the Spanish in this text, it contains features of other Iberian Romance languages, so we will use a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) to analyse some phonetic phenomena of consonantism and vowelism to determine whether the language of this text has Western Iberian Romance or Andalusian characteristics. The phenomena we will study are, in vowelism, timbral hesitation and diphthongs; in consonantism, the sibilants of the text, the evolution of the Latin initial F-, betacism and some palatalisations unrelated to Castilian
