El objetivo de este estudio es describir y explicar cómo funciona la cita directa en español oral. Para ello, se emplean muestras orales recogidas en once ciudades españolas como parte del Proyecto para el Estudio Sociolingüístico del Español de España y de América (PRESEEA, Moreno Fernández 2021). En particular, en este artículo se presentan, en contraste, los resultados obtenidos del análisis de la variación sociolingüística y geolectal en el uso de la cita directa en interacción. Con ese fin, se examina la relación entre el empleo de la cita directa, los tipos de marcos introductores y las variables sociales sexo, edad y nivel de instrucción, así como la variación y distribución de este recurso citativo en las diferentes ciudades de España analizadas. La comparación del empleo de este procedimiento en las muestras utilizadas permite observar similitudes y divergencias entre las ciudades, así como posibles cambios en marcha.
The aim of this study is to describe and explain how direct quotation functions in spoken Spanish. To this end, oral samples collected in eleven Spanish cities are used as part of the Project for the Sociolinguistic Study of Spanish in Spain and America (PRESEEA, Moreno Fernández 2021). In particular, this article contrasts the results obtained from the analysis of sociolinguistic and geolectal variation in the use of direct quotation in interaction. For this purpose, the relationship between the use of direct quotation, the types of introductory frames, and the social variables of gender, age, and level of education are considered, as well as the variation and distribution of this quotation mechanism in the different cities from Spain analyzed. The comparison of the use of direct quotation in the samples used allows us to observe similarities and divergences between the cities, as well as possible ongoing changes.
