Walter Hoefler
En un tono personal, mediante un ejercicio que se mueve entre el testimonio y la arqueología, entrelazando experiencia, memoria y lenguaje, este escrito resume, desde la perspectiva de Hoefler, unas suertes de “vidas paralelas” con Mansilla. El relato se basa en que el primero fue profesor del segundo durante los inicios de ambos como poetas, ruta que luego continuaron compartiendo, además, como teóricos de la literatura. A la vez, ambos figuran como reconocidos “representantes” de importantes grupos literarios del sur de Chile: Hoefler de Trilce, nacido en Valdivia, y Mansilla de Aumén, originario de Chiloé. Así, en este texto lo biográfico y lo cultural se funden en la densidad del lenguaje poético. La escritura y la literatura, entonces, son relevadas como trabajos éticos y críticos en relación con la búsqueda y construcción de sentidos.
In a personal tone, through an exercise that moves between testimony and archaeology, intertwining experience, memory, and language, this writing summarizes, from Hoefler’s perspective, a type of “parallel life” with Mansilla. The narrative is based on the fact that the former was the latter’s professor during their beginnings as poets, a path they later continued sharing, additionally, as literary theorists. At the same time, both figure as recognized “representatives” of important literary groups from the south of Chile: Hoefler of Trilce, born in Valdivia, and Mansilla of Aumén, originally from Chiloé. Thus, in this text, the biographical and the cultural merge in the density of poetic language. The writing and the literature, then, are relieved as ethical and critical works in relation to the search and construction of meanings.
