El objetivo de este artículo es doble, por un lado, arrojar luz sobre la historia y el estado actual de la traducción audiovisual, así como destacar sus diferentes modalidades, especialmente, el doblaje y la subtitulación y por otro, poner de relieve la importancia que tiene, y si efectivamente los profesionales que se dedican al doblaje y a la subtitulación de emisiones audiovisuales reflejan las expectativas del público.
The objective of this article is twofold: first, to shed light on the history and current state of audiovisual translation, as well as to highlight its different modalities, especially dubbing and subtitling; and second, to emphasize its importance and whether the professionals dedicated to dubbing and subtitling audiovisual broadcasts effectively reflect the public’s expectations.
