En 1985 José Ángel Valente decide instalarse en la ciudad de Almería después de vivir muchos años fuera de España. En este trabajo se examina la labor intelectual del poeta durante su estadía almeriense, centrada en la creación del Seminario Fin de Siglo y Formas de la Modernidad. Este Seminario se formó gracias al apoyo de José Guirao Cabrera, por entonces Delegado de Cultura de la Diputación Provincial de Almería. A través de este Seminario, Valente abordaría cuestiones centrales de su pensamiento: modernidad/postmodernidad y su proyección dialéctica centro/periferia.
In 1985, José Ángel Valente decided to settle in Almería after living many years outside of Spain. This work examines the poet's intellectual work during his stay in Almería, which focused on the creation of the Seminar on the End of the Century and Forms of Modernity. This Seminar was formed thanks to the support of José Guirao Cabrera, then Delegate of Culture for the Provincial Council of Almería. Through this Seminar, Valente would address central issues of his thought: modernity/postmodernity and their dialectical projection between center and periphery.
