Edició d’uns textos –manuscrits i impresos– que circularen per Barcelona el 1785 arran del permís d’utilitzar cotxe concedit al fabricant d’indianes Joan Canaleta, fet que va produir la indignació d’una part de la noblesa. Un dels textos conté un atac frontal als valors del comerç i de la burgesia industrial, els altres en canvi critiquen els prejudicis tradicionals de la noblesa. Publication of texts (manuscripts and printed texts) in circulation in Barcelona in 1785 as a result of the permission to use a carriage granted to the calico manufacturer, Joan Canaleta, which caused indignation among the aristocracy. One of the texts contains a direct attack on the values of trade and the industrial bourgeoisie while others criticise the traditional prejudices of the aristocracy. The introduction considers the meaning behind the controversy and provides a context for the figure of Canaleta in his social milieu
