Dins el corpus poètic de Francesc Fontanella (1622-1681) es compten una setantena de composicions de caràcter epistolar. Algunes d’aquestes composicions contenen elements que semblen remetre a un dels gèneres pictòrics més característics del barroc: el de la natura morta. Partint d’una aproximació comparatística, el propòsit d’aquest treball és examinar aquests elements per tal de dilucidar quines funcions desenvolupen i quins propòsits persegueix la seva utilització dins aquests textos, amb l’objectiu d’aportar una nova perspectiva que contribueixi a la seva millor valoració crítica.
Within the poetic corpus of Francesc Fontanella (1622-1681), about seventy compositions are to be considered letter poems. Some of these poems contain elements that seem to refer to one of the most characteristic pictorial genres of the Baroque period: the still life. Based on a comparative approach, the purpose of this paper is to examine these elements in order to elucidate what functions do they develop and what is the purpose of its use within these texts, in order to provide a new perspective that contributes to a better critical evaluation of Fontanella’s letter poems.
