Several studies have explored the possible universality of the time between speaker changes in turn distribution, the floor transfer offset (FTO), within the same language and interlinguistically (Stivers et al., 2009; Roberts et al., 2015). Despite considering different language-culture pairs, this issue has not been analyzed taking into account different situational factors of each exchange within the same language. This study analyzes and compares the time between interventions in two colloquial conversations and two television talk shows in peninsular Spanish. In doing so, it not only explores the genre of conversation, in line with the Val.Es.Co group, but also delves into the possible delimitation of discursive boundaries based on a numerical value, the FTO, beyond a purely qualitative classification.
Varios estudios han explorado la posible universalidad del tiempo entre cambio de hablantes en la distribución del turno, el floor transfer offset, dentro de una misma lengua y de manera interlingüística (Stivers et al., 2009; Roberts et al., 2015). A pesar de tener en cuenta diferentes pares de lengua-cultura, no se ha analizado esta cuestión teniendo en cuenta los factores situacionales de cada intercambio en una misma lengua. El presente trabajo analiza y compara el transcurso entre intervenciones en dos conversaciones coloquiales y dos tertulias televisivas en español peninsular. Con ello, no solo se explora el primer género, en línea con el Grupo Val.Es.Co, sino que también se ahonda en la posible delimitación de las fronteras discursivas atendiendo a un valor numérico, el FTO, más allá de una clasificación puramente cualitativa, como se ha hecho con anterioridad.
