This work, which belongs to the field of Latin American philosophy, being a global spiritual, philosophical, political, and other core tradition, along with other traditions such as European, Eastern, African, and so on, deepens the importance of this intercultural debate, gaining a sense-consciousness and historical awareness of the truly diverse makeup of the world. To this end, I analyze fundamental concepts and topics of the Latin American tradition, or that of Abya Yala or ALASH, articulating them with my own theses that update the field and debate of Latin American liberation philosophy. It is necessary to begin by reflecting on the specificity of Latin America in universal history, to reveal the place we fundamentally hold in history, which has always been denied to us, yet which is also important for redefining the identity of Latin Americans. To begin to consider this topic, Dussel asserts that the term "West" is as misleading as that of "East," a Manichean dualism usable by uneducated minds. The reality is more complex, and Latin America is neither Europe (although Europe before the 16th century is its proto-history), nor is it the United States.
