Concerned about the level and lack of Basque language practice among local students, this study was conducted based on feedback received from teachers at the Estitxu Robles Secondary School in Bayonne. Initially, the aim was simply to study the students' language practices, but I noticed the impact that the school had on these practices. The aim of this study can therefore be summarised as follows: to understand what learning Basque in a French urban area has for adolescents, by looking at their language practices and exploring the discourses or strategies of the college in this context. Through fieldwork, this is an exploratory study, therefore based on the students' experiences. Proposals are made to look at this problem, which is increasingly common in schools that teach in a minority language, from a different perspective, based on work on similar situations around the world.
Bertako ikasleen euskara maila eta praktika ezaz kezkatua, Baionako Estitxu Robles Kolegioko irakasleengandik jasotako oihartzunetatik abiatuz egin den ikerketa da hau. Hasiera batean, sinpleki ikasleen hizkuntza praktikak aztertzea bazen helburua, kolegioak praktika horietan zuen eraginaz ohartu nintzen. Honela laburtu daiteke beraz ikerketa honen helburua: nerabeentzako, hirigune frantses batean euskaraz ikasteak eragiten duena ezagutzea, haien hizkuntza praktiketan erreparatuz eta testuinguru horretan kolegioaren diskurtso edo estrategiak arakatuz. Landa lanaren bidez, ikerketa esploraitzalea da honakoa, beraz ikasleen bizipenetan oinarritzen dena. Hizkuntza gutxituan irakasten duten ikastetxe geroz eta gehiagotan den arazo horri beste begirada batetik ikusteko proposamenak egiten dira, munduan zehar antzeko egoeran direnei buruzko lanetan oinarrituak.
