Research conducted in the last decade has shown that sport plays a vital role in the lives of young people, both in language socialization and in the production of femininity and masculinity models. Aware of this, at the request of the Pasaia City Council, we launched a qualitative study in the 2023-2024 academic year, with the aim of analyzing the combination of language and gender in the sports field. This article reports on this research, highlighting the contributions that the ethnographic method can make to sociolinguistics. The collaboration with three sports clubs has shown the need to develop language planning that incorporates a gender perspective and puts the voices of young people at the center.
Azken hamarkadan egindako ikerketek erakutsi dute kirolak berebiziko rola betetzen duela gazteen bizitzetan, bai hizkuntza-sozializazioan bai feminitate- eta maskulinitate-ereduen produkzioan. Hortaz jabetuta, Pasaiako Udalak eskatuta ikerketa kualitatiboa abiatu genuen 2023-2024 ikasturtean, kirol esparruan hizkuntzaren eta generoaren arteko uztardura aztertzeko helburuarekin. Artikulu honek ikerketa horren berri ematen du, metodo etnografikoak soziolinguistikari egin diezazkiokeen ekarpenak balioan jarriz. Hiru kirol-klubekin egindako elkarlanak erakutsi du beharrezkoa dela hizkuntza-planifikazioa garatzea, genero ikuspegia txertatuko duena eta gazteen ahotsak erdigunean jarriko dituena.
