The following research seeks to elucidate the strategies operated by the so-called Latin American Posmodernism in its attempt to legitimize a «own right to the new», following the terminology of Hans-Robert Jauss. Specifically, we will focus on the Argentine case and the last period of the movement: from the Reforma Universitaria (Córdoba, Argentine, 1918) to the appearance of Prisma (1921), the first symptom of the beginning of the avant-garde in the country. Our interest does not lie in the analysis of creative texts, but in the programmes, manifestos, essays and/or reviews, published in literary or cultural magazines of that period, as this is the most frequent means of legitimation used by the poetic movements of the 20th century. Our corpus is made up of the following Buenos Aires magazines: Cuaderno de El Colegio Novecentista (1917-1919), Bases (1919- 1920), Clarin (1919-1920), Insurrexit (1920-1921), Los Raros: Revista de Orientacion Futurista (1920), and Cuasimodo (1919-1921).
