In the following study I present and analyze the work of Mónica Girón in the context of her exhibition Zonas Reflejas (2018) with the general objective of detecting and explaining the possible connections between aesthetic-artistic and scientific-investigative practices. I follow the guidelines of the First and Second Semiotics Program as a unified theory of the social and I use the analytical tools defined by a visual semiotics in order to study and support the epistemological potentiality of contemporary aes-thetic-artistic productions, their ability to denaturalize perceptual habits and their co-operation in the reconfiguration of semiosis. For this purpose, I first present the corpus and proceed to interpretively update it with the assumed theoretical-methodological tools; then I synthetically describe the most rel-evant postulates of the epistemology of Charles S. Peirce, and finally I integrate the developed analysis with the theoretical concepts exposed to discuss the scope of such integration in the dialogue between art and science.
