Se ha señalado que a partir del siglo XV el verbo tornar empieza a ser sustituido por volver.Uno de los valores discursivos que presentaba tornar es el de regresión, es decir, este verbo se inserta en construcciones con la función de marcar el punto en el que se retoma el tema central del discurso después de una digresión. Sin embargo, queda todavía por estudiar la sustitución por volver para este valor discursivo concreto. Por tanto, en este trabajo nos proponemos investigar, a partir de textos de temática histórica de los siglos XV y XVI recogidos en el CDH, cómo se produce esta sustitución para aportar nuevos datos sobre este relevo léxico.
It has been noted that starting in the 15th century, the verb tornarbegan to be replaced by volver. One of the discursive functions previously associated with tornaris that of regression—that is, this verb appears in constructions that serve to mark the point at which the central topic of the discourse is resumed after a digression.
