This study examines the poetry and essays of Rafael Cadenas on the basis of a central claim: his writing constitutes an ontological inquiry articulated through poetic form. The guiding problem is to determine whether the ontological ground he attributes to certain literary works—namely, the possibility of establishing a new relation between the human being and reality—also underlies his own poetic production. The methodology combines phenomenological and hermeneutic analysis within an interdisciplinary framework. The corpus encompasses selected early works, subsequent publications, and his most recent texts. The findings indicate a gradual dissolution of the identitary center of the poetic self in favor of a lyric voice that privileges attention and decentering. These formal transformations correspond to an ontology that conceives reality as a totality not divided by the subject–object dichotomy. Cadenas's poetry does not merely thematize an inquiry into the fact of living; it advances it as a mode of being, shaping a poetics in which form and experience are inseparable.
