This article articulates a working methodology developed over a decade of interdisciplinary collaboration among sociology, archi-val studies, and the performing arts. Drawing on the figure of the «pro-cess archivist,» the «accompanying researcher,» or, as I prefer to define it here, the archivist of and for the stage, it analyzes the exercise of selecting, storing, and transmitting documentation for creative processes, framed through the notions of an expanded archive and critical citation prac-tices. The aim is to examine how this work, embedded in research-cre-ation dynamics, enables the expansion and contestation of the ways in which knowledge is generated in and for documentary theatre. From the post-custodial archival perspective, the article proposes endowing «table work» with epistemological depth, transforming it into a space of critical mediation. Beyond the analysis of a specific theatrical work, it offers an overview of the role of the researcher-collaborator in theatre, who understands the archive in the performing arts not as a static repository but as a creative and relational engine actively con-structed throughout the process. Finally, the article seeks to contribute to contemporary debates on the relationship between archives and the arts.
