Poesía no eres tú (1972) constitutes the main compendium of the poetic work of Rosario Castellanos, although it does not bring together all of her production. The excluded texts correspond to two specific moments: the first, between 1948 and 1955, and the second, made up of those written after the publication of said volume. In this sense, the present analysis will focus exclusively on the first stage, with the purpose of demonstrating that these poems were deliberately omitted by Castellanos based on the construction of an authorial ethos within his poetics. This ethos is characterized by the predominance of free verse, a conversational tone, the use of irony, the treatment of transcendental themes and a marked intellectual inclination. To support this hypothesis, first of all the features of this ethos will be delimited from texts by the author herself; Subsequently, based on the review and analysis of the excluded corpus, it will be argued that its omission responded to the need to consolidate said authorial profile in the work of the Chiapas writer.
