Ikerketa honek, ikuspegi interpretatibo eta kualitatibo batetik, 11-12 urteko gaztetxoen eguneroko hizkuntza-hautaketak aztertzen ditu. Fokua hiru aldagai nagusitan jartzen da: kideen arteko talde-dinamikak, genero-sozializazioa eta erreferente berrien zein sare sozialen eragina. Gipuzkoako ikastetxe bateko kasu-azterketan oinarrituta (24 ikasle, 15 eguneko behaketa eta elkarrizketa erdi-egituratuak), aldagai horiek esparru informaletan dituzten joerak arakatu dira. Lortutako emaitzek, muga metodologikoen baitan, hiru joera nagusi plazaratzen dituzte: euskal hiztunen konbergentzia linguistikoa, genero-sozializazioaren eragina, eta kontsumo digital erdaldunek elkarrizketak gaztelaniara bideratzeko duten indarra. Ondorioek argi uzten dute hizkuntza-hautaketa harremanetan eraikitzen den prozesu sozial eta afektiboa dela; horregatik, ezinbestekoa da hausnarketarako eta euskaraz jarduteko espazio seguruak sustatzea.
From an interpretive and qualitative approach, this research analyzes the daily language choices of 11-to-12-year-olds. The focus is placed on three main variables: peer group dynamics, gender socialization, and the influence of both new role models and social media. Based on a case study conducted at a school in Gipuzkoa (featuring 24 students, a 15-day observation period, and semi-structured interviews), the trends of these variables in informal settings have been explored. Within its methodological limitations, the results point to three major trends: the linguistic convergence of Basque speakers, the impact of gender socialization, and the power of non-Basque digital consumption in steering conversations toward Spanish. The conclusions make it clear that language choice is a social and affective process built through relationships; therefore, promoting safe spaces for reflection and for using Basque is essential.
