This article examines the configuration of corporeality in Tótem espantapájaros [Totem Scarecrow] (2016), by Amalia Iglesias Serna, through the lens of intersemiosis and the materiality of the sign. The study situates the work within a hybrid discursive genealogy where the human figure, beyond serving as a thematic referent, acts as both a support and a textual architecture. Its specificity lies in the transmutation of the poem into a ritual object that invokes an ancestral reminiscence of written bodies. Through an analysis of her calligrammatic totems—white strokes set against a dark background—the paper investigates how her handwritten script prompts a reflection on rehumanisation, and how the symbolism of these «architextures» confronts the dematerialisation of the current technological era. As a conclusion, the article demonstrates that the plastic composition of human anatomy in this work functions as a map of memory and an amulet of resistance against the increasing virtuality of the subject.
